Frequently asked

Tire Rotations questions

How often should I rotate my tires?+

Most manufacturers recommend rotating tires every 5,000–8,000 miles, which conveniently lines up with most modern synthetic-oil change intervals. Regular rotation evens out the differences in wear between front and rear (front tires usually wear faster on FWD cars; drive tires wear faster on RWD trucks) and can meaningfully extend overall tire life. Skipping rotations is one of the most common reasons tires wear out tens of thousands of miles short of their tread-life rating.

Does rotating tires fix uneven wear?+

Rotation prevents wear patterns from getting worse, but it cannot reverse damage that's already there. If the tires already show severe cupping, inside-edge feathering, or significant tread-depth differences, we'll point that out and explain whether rotation, an alignment check, or replacement is the right call. Rotating badly worn tires onto new positions can also create vibration, so honesty about condition matters more than just doing the rotation.

Do you balance tires during rotation?+

We check for visible signs of imbalance — cupping, uneven wear, and any vibration noted on the road test — during every rotation, and we recommend rebalancing if the tires show evidence of needing it. Standard rotation pricing does not include rebalancing, since most tires don't need it at every rotation. If you'd prefer rebalancing on a set schedule (often called for around every 10,000–15,000 miles), just let us know and we'll include it in the appointment.
