Frequently asked

Scheduled Maintenance questions

Does scheduled maintenance at an independent shop void my warranty?+

No — the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act explicitly prohibits manufacturers from requiring that warranty-covered vehicles be serviced at a dealer in order to keep the warranty valid. As long as the maintenance is performed by a qualified shop using parts that meet the manufacturer's specifications, and you keep records, your warranty remains intact. We follow the factory service schedule for your specific vehicle and provide itemized invoices that meet warranty documentation requirements.

How often should I get scheduled maintenance?+

Most vehicles are built around 5,000-mile minor services and 15,000 / 30,000 / 60,000 / 90,000-mile major service checkpoints, with each milestone adding fluid exchanges, filter replacements, and inspection items. The exact list varies by manufacturer and model, so we follow your specific owner's manual rather than a generic schedule. That keeps you from paying for service you don't need while still hitting every interval the manufacturer actually calls for.

How long does a major scheduled service take?+

Most major scheduled services — 30K, 60K, and 90K-mile intervals — are completed the same day. A typical drop-off in the morning is ready by late afternoon, depending on parts availability and what additional items the inspection turns up. If a service uncovers a repair that we can't finish the same day, we'll let you know before close of business so you can plan transportation.
