Frequently asked

Computer Diagnostic questions

Can you program my new key or module?+

Yes — we have dealer-level scan tools and J2534 reprogramming capability that covers most domestic and import makes, including Ford, GM, RAM/Stellantis, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and many European brands. That allows us to program new keys, flash module updates, and add or remove modules without sending you to the dealer for routine work. Some manufacturer-specific security functions still require their network, and we'll tell you up front when that's the case.

What if there are no codes but the car runs poorly?+

Driveability problems often exist long before the ECM is willing to set a stored trouble code, so we go beyond a basic scan when needed. Live data analysis, short- and long-term fuel trim comparisons, lab scope captures on sensors and ignition coils, and pressure-transducer testing on cylinders all reveal patterns that a code reader can't see. This is how we catch failing injectors, weak coils, intake leaks, and timing issues before they become a P-code and a roadside breakdown.

How long does a full diagnostic take?+

Most diagnostic appointments are completed within 1–2 hours, which is enough to scan all modules, review freeze-frame data, and perform pinpoint testing on a single fault. Intermittent problems, network or CAN-bus communication issues, and faults that only appear under specific load or temperature conditions can require several hours of monitored road testing. We'll always check in before extending diagnostic time so you stay in control of the cost.
