Frequently asked

Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Service & Repair questions

Do you work on Tesla vehicles?+

We handle routine maintenance and many light repairs on Teslas — tires, alignments, brake service, suspension, 12V electrical, and HVAC work all fall within our scope. For major high-voltage battery, drive unit, or autopilot/computer issues, the right answer is often a Tesla service center, and we'll tell you that honestly rather than charge you to find out. We'd rather lose a job than send you home with a half-solved problem.

How long does a hybrid battery last?+

Most hybrid traction batteries last 8–10 years or 100,000–150,000 miles, with Toyota and Lexus packs frequently exceeding that and some early Ford and Honda packs falling short. We can measure the pack's remaining capacity and individual module voltages, which tells you whether it's truly failing or just needs a single weak module replaced. Replacement options range from a new OE pack to a rebuilt pack with a warranty, and we'll lay out the trade-offs in cost and longevity so you can decide.

Is hybrid maintenance different from regular cars?+

Hybrid and EV maintenance overlaps with conventional cars more than people expect — hybrids still need engine oil, filters, brakes, and tires, and EVs still need brake fluid, cabin air filters, tires, and suspension service. The differences are the high-voltage system, which requires insulated tools and procedures, and on most hybrids and many EVs an inverter or battery coolant loop that needs periodic fluid service. Regenerative braking also tends to extend brake life dramatically, so we monitor for caliper seizure from underuse rather than just wear.
