Auto repair near Downtown Thorndale.
Downtown Thorndale is a one-street historic district along US-79, with century-old brick buildings, a city park, and a quiet small-town feel between Taylor and Rockdale.

What makes it special
Thorndale was founded in 1876 as a stop on the International–Great Northern Railroad and named after the thorn-style hedgerows that early English settlers used to fence their property — a transplant from the old country that turned out to be perfectly suited to the Blackland Prairie.
Downtown is a single concentrated stretch along US-79, with multi-story brick commercial buildings dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Thorndale Bulldogs play just off the main strip, and Friday night football is, in classic small-Texas-town fashion, the social event of the week most of the fall.
It's a pleasant place to stop on the way through — gas, a meal, and a short walk through downtown — and an easy 25-minute drive from our shop in Hutto.
