Lake Kyle is a 78-acre city park on the east side of Kyle built around a small lake — with a fishing pier, walking trails, a playground, and a historic farmhouse now used for community events.
What makes it special
Lake Kyle Park opened in 2011 on land the city acquired specifically to preserve as green space as Kyle boomed. The park is anchored by a small stocked fishing lake, with a wooden pier, kayak launch (with kayaks available to check out), and a paved loop trail that circles the water.
The park also includes a large playground, disc golf, a picnic pavilion, and the restored Kohler House — a historic Kyle farmhouse that now serves as a rentable event space and community meeting spot.
It's become one of the most popular family destinations in southern Hays County, with regular Movies at the Lake, Easter events, and summer concerts on the lawn.
