Auto repair near Murphy Park.
Murphy Park is Taylor's largest city park — a historic green space with a stocked fishing pond, pavilions, the city's outdoor swimming pool, and a frisbee golf course.

What makes it special
Murphy Park was donated to the City of Taylor in 1939 by the Murphy family and has been the city's main public green space ever since. Its mature pecan trees, stone pavilions, and the historic Moody Pavilion bandstand give the park a distinct pre-WWII feel that newer parks just can't replicate.
Inside the park: a stocked fishing pond, a 9-hole disc-golf course, a community pool, picnic shelters, and the Taylor Rodeo arena that hosts the annual rodeo every August. The park is also the site of the Taylor International Barbecue Cookoff each summer — one of the largest barbecue competitions in Texas.
It's a perfect 'drop the car, walk to lunch downtown, come back to a clean repair' kind of stop.
