Auto repair near Downtown Round Rock.
Downtown Round Rock is a revitalized historic district along Main Street, named for the actual round limestone rock in Brushy Creek that marked a low-water crossing on the Chisholm Trail.

What makes it special
Round Rock takes its name from a single landmark — a round-topped anvil-shaped limestone boulder sitting in the middle of Brushy Creek that marked the safest low-water crossing for cattle drives on the Chisholm Trail in the 1850s. You can still see that exact rock today at Chisholm Trail Crossing Park, just a block off downtown's Main Street.
Downtown itself was largely built out between the 1870s and 1920s, with limestone-and-brick storefronts that have been carefully restored over the last twenty years. The Williamson County Sun building, the old Round Rock National Bank, and the original Round Rock Donuts shop (founded in 1926) are still recognizable anchors.
Today the district hosts the Hometown Holiday Lights, the Chalk Walk Arts Festival, and a busy lineup of First Friday events that close Main Street to traffic.
