Auto repair near Belton Lake.
Belton Lake is a 12,300-acre Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Leon River, bordering Fort Cavazos to the north and known for striped bass fishing and clear, deep water.

What makes it special
Belton Lake was completed in 1954 by the US Army Corps of Engineers, which dammed the Leon River for flood control, water supply, and recreation. With 12,300 acres of surface area and a maximum depth of about 124 feet, it's one of the larger and deeper reservoirs in Central Texas.
The north and west shorelines border Fort Cavazos and include the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA), one of the most fully-developed military MWR recreation sites in the country — open to military, retirees, and the public for camping, equestrian, water-park, and event use.
Fishing is the lake's main draw: striped bass, white bass, hybrid bass, largemouth, and catfish are all routine catches. The deep, clear water is also popular with sailors and scuba divers — yes, scuba divers, in Central Texas.
